Your new company

You will be joining an organisation where the Commercial function plays a central role in shaping strategic decision‑making and ensuring spend complies with statutory, regulatory and government requirements. The team oversees procurement, commercial governance, commercial risk and the development of commercial opportunities, supporting stakeholders across the organisation and ensuring procurement activity aligns with broader strategic needs.

Your new role

As a Commercial Manager, you will provide professional procurement expertise to support major strategic and contractual decisions on projects over £1m. You will manage the full tender process, from defining requirements and researching markets to evaluating bids and awarding contracts, ensuring all activity meets value‑for‑money and compliance standards. You will help shape commercial terms and policies, manage procurement‑related risks, negotiate with suppliers and support continuous improvement across procurement practices. You will also mentor colleagues and provide training to strengthen commercial capability across the organisation.

What you'll need to succeed

Success in this role requires MCIPS, strong public‑sector procurement experience and a broad understanding of goods, services and works categories. You will bring contract lifecycle expertise, knowledge of procurement legislation including PCR2015 and PA2023, and strong skills in negotiation, stakeholder engagement and problem‑solving. You will be highly organised, detail‑focused and confident managing multiple procurements, with excellent communication skills.

What you'll get in return

You will be offered a salary between £48-50k alongside a generous benefits package and hybrid working requiring you to be on site 2 days per week. You will enjoy a role with meaningful influence, contributing to strategic projects and improving commercial processes. You will have the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders, shape procurement approaches and help develop commercial capability across the organisation. This position offers variety, responsibility and the chance to make a lasting impact.
