Commercial Manager - Permanent - Coventry - Water - Hybrid Working - Bonus - Strong Project Pipeline

Your new company

Our client, an established and high-profile organisation based in Coventry operating in the water industry, is seeking a Commercial Manager to join their team. This multi-accredited company specialises in the delivery of clean and waste infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects across the Midlands region. This is a full-time permanent position (37 hours per week, Monday – Friday) based in their Coventry office with the option for hybrid and flexible working.

Your new role

As Commercial Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing cost reporting for allocated projects, including cost forecasting and anticipated final cost
  • Monitoring and reporting on all commercial aspects of projects, proposing mitigation actions for any issues.
  • Managing the assessment and valuation of contractor applications and payment certifications
  • Producing payment applications/invoices and managing commercial risk and claims
  • Providing advice on change management and producing documentation for approval
  • Ensuring proper retention and archiving of commercial records and undertaking final account settlements
  • Collaborating with stakeholders on managing contracts and supplier relationships to maximise commercial and contractual benefits.

What you'll need to succeed

In order to be successful, you must have:
  • Proven experience in commercial management within the civil engineering industry, ideally within the water sector
  • Experience managing NEC contracts (ideally NEC4) and a strong understanding of commercial practices and risk management
  • Sound financial and analytical skills, with experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence.
