Commercial Manager

Lincolnshire | £60,000–£70,000 + excellent benefits | Hybrid working | Long-term opportunity

This business sits at the heart of the UK’s food supply chain, a fast-moving, high-volume operation that keeps food manufacturers running and ultimately, supermarket shelves stocked. With 130 people on site, 8,000 pallets moving each week, and over 100 vehicles arriving and departing daily, it’s a place where logistics meets precision and where commercial leadership truly matters.

We’re looking for a Commercial Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team. You’ll work closely with experienced peers in operations and finance, helping to shape strategy, drive performance, and support the wider business as it continues to grow.
This is a key role with real breadth. You’ll be primarily responsible for customer relationships, operational efficiency and ensuring the site runs at full capacity, with a target of 95% utilisation across operational areas. You’ll lead a team of 12 in stock and materials planning, bringing structure and clarity to how stock is managed and materials are forecasted. You’ll also oversee the warehouse management system and customer EDI links, working with an external IT provider to make sure systems keep pace with the complexity of the operation.

Above all, this is a customer-facing role. With a portfolio of around 50 food manufacturers and importers, both UK-based and international, you’ll be the voice of the business. You’ll stay close to customers, understand fluctuations in demand, and help them plan with confidence. You’ll lead service reviews, build trust, and make sure every account is aligned with space and operational capability.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Be a key voice on the SLT, contributing commercial insight and helping shape sales budgets
  • Build strong relationships with customers, leading service reviews and staying proactive in your communication
  • Help customers plan volumes and activity to maximise operational efficiency
  • Lead the stock and materials team, driving process improvements and operational excellence
  • Manage account volumes and space planning, ensuring clarity across internal teams and customer accounts
  • Oversee systems and data, working closely with an external IT provider to ensure smooth WMS operations
  • Champion continuous improvement, bringing fresh thinking to how they manage stock, materials, and customer service

What you’ll bring:
You’ll be commercially sharp, confident in customer-facing roles, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You’ll have experience leading teams, improving processes, and working with systems; ideally in supply chain, logistics or food. You’ll be someone who brings order and clarity, solves real-world problems, and thrives on collaboration.

Why this role matters:
As Commercial Manager you will shape the future of a growing business. With hybrid working, a strong benefits package, and the potential to expand into multi-site responsibilities over time, this is a long-term opportunity for someone who wants to make a lasting impact.
