Exiting Job opportunity – Gas Engineer

ROLE:Gas Engineer
HOURS:38 hours per week
LOCATION:Fife, Edinburgh & Central Belt

We're looking for a Gas Engineer who will undertake the maintenance and repair of the gas plant, along with other tasks as required under the contract.

Role Responsibilities :
• Undertake maintenance and repair of the gas plant and complete all related tasks in line with a skill set.
• Ensure all Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive tasks are completed to required legislative standards.
• Complete all tasks within contractual SLAs and KPIs.• Work across Fife, Edinburgh and occasionally other sites throughout the Central Belt.
• Utilise an Electric Van provided as part of the role (home charger installation included).
• Participate in an out‑of‑hours on‑call rota as required.
• Successfully achieve security vetting to MOD standard.
• Carry out PPM and complete relevant documentation.
• Carry out reactive and emergency tasks and accurately complete associated documentation.
• Produce permits to work and risk assessments where required.
• Identify and action faults or remedial work in conjunction with the Helpdesk.
• Use handheld technology effectively to complete all tasks.
• Support other team members when required, as directed by the Service Delivery Manager/Director.
• Ensure all tasks are completed within contractual timescales.
• Liaise with sub‑contractors to ensure compliance with work standards and Health & Safety requirements.
• Adopt a flexible approach when assisting with other properties within the portfolio.
• Complete all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Accurately complete all work‑related documentation, including purchase card receipts, timesheets, and mileage returns.
• Build and maintain excellent customer relationships with on‑site clients.
• Work safely and diligently at all times.
•Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
• Attend and participate in all required training and appraisal activities.
• Undertake additional duties in line with capability as required.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the below defined requirements for the role:
• Qualified to City & Guilds Level or equivalent in relevant disciplines.
• Experience in maintenance, testing and fault‑finding on a variety of equipment including boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable).
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Excellent customer service focus.
• Capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and on time.
• Full valid driving licence.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:
• Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times.
• Report any deficiencies in systems of work or equipment that could impact service delivery or pose a risk to health, safety, or the environment.
• Use all work equipment and personal PPE correctly and in accordance with training.
• Report any issues or training needs to your Line Manager and/or via the divisional incident reporting system.
