Collections Agent Job 1-2 month contract

Hays are currently recruiting for a retail business based in Ayr, who are seeking a Collections Agent to join their team on a temporary basis. This is a short-term role lasting approximately 1–2 months, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs. The position is fully office-based, with working hours from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Your new role

In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for reducing aged debt by efficiently collecting overdue accounts and unpaid invoices-working to clearly defined KPIs and following a structured collections process.

  • Manage assigned customer accounts and drive timely payments
  • Escalate outstanding accounts based on predefined criteria
  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities
  • Resolve customer enquiries and disputes promptly and professionally
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to align collection strategies with wider business goals
  • Handle sensitive data with precision and care
