Requirement for a CNC Supervisor in the Newry area

Your new company

This well-established engineering firm based in Newry is renowned for delivering high-quality machining solutions across a range of industries. With a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement, the company offers a dynamic and supportive working environment where leadership and technical expertise are highly valued.

Your new role

As CNC Supervisor, you will be responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, on time, and to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers. You’ll lead a team of machinists, providing training, mentoring, and support while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves hands-on machining using CNC mills and lathes, maintaining capacity plans, and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

To thrive in this role, you’ll need proven supervisory experience in a machining environment, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work independently and logically. A time-served background as a machinist or toolmaker is essential, along with familiarity with a wide range of materials including brass, aluminium, stainless steel, tool steel, and nylon. Ideally, you’ll also bring at least four years of post-apprenticeship experience in a CNC machining shop. A conscientious, team-oriented approach and the confidence to manage disciplinary matters are key personality traits for success.

What you'll get in return

You’ll receive a highly competitive salary, dependent on experience, along with a structured working week of 39.5 hours: Monday to Thursday 8am–5pm, and Friday 8am–1:30pm. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role in a forward-thinking company that values its people and promotes a positive team culture.
