CMDB & LeanIX Data Steward job – ServiceNow & service mapping focus

Your new company

You’ll be joining a large, complex organisation undergoing significant transformation across its application and service landscape. The business is investing heavily in improving the quality, governance, and operational use of its CMDB and enterprise architecture data, with ServiceNow and LeanIX at the heart of this journey.

The environment is collaborative, delivery‑focused, and federated, requiring strong engagement across IT Operations, Architecture, Application Support, and Service Design & Transition teams.

Your new role

As a CMDB & LeanIX Data Steward, you’ll act as the hands‑on authority for configuration and application data across ServiceNow CMDB and LeanIX. Your primary focus will be to establish and maintain a single, trusted, and operationally usable data model that supports service mapping, architecture, operations, and governance.

This is a delivery‑focused role where you’ll take ownership of data quality, lifecycle controls, and reconciliation, ensuring both platforms remain synchronised, semantically aligned, and fit for purpose. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to embed pragmatic governance and prevent data decay following implementation.

Key responsibilities include CMDB and LeanIX data stewardship, defining the canonical data model, supporting service mapping outcomes, resolving data conflicts, and enabling sustainable BAU processes

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong, hands‑on experience with ServiceNow CMDB, including CI classes, relationships, and service mapping concepts
  • Practical experience with LeanIX or equivalent enterprise architecture tooling
  • Solid understanding of CSDM, application lifecycle management, and ITIL/ITSM processes
  • Proven track record of improving data quality within complex IT environments
  • Experience working across federated or global organisations
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a pragmatic, delivery‑led mindset
Desirable experience includes service mapping implementation, aligning EA tooling with operational CMDBs, exposure to SIAM or multi‑supplier models, and supporting audit or compliance activities.

What you'll get in return

  • A contract role of up to 10 months with meaningful ownership and impact
  • Market‑competitive day rate (dependent on experience and engagement model)
  • Flexible UK‑based hybrid working, with occasional onsite attendance in Hertfordshire as required
  • The opportunity to shape and embed CMDB and application data governance in a high‑profile transformation programme
