Clerk of Works, Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer

We are working in partnership with a leading multidisciplinary consultancy practice, seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to be based near Derry/Londonderry. The company specialises in Architecture, Civil, Structural, and Fire Engineering. With over 20 years of experience, this firm delivers professional services to businesses, corporations, local authorities, public bodies, solicitors, and individuals across commercial, industrial, and domestic projects. The senior technical team brings global expertise, having worked on prestigious projects such as racetracks, hospitals, educational facilities, large-scale residential developments, and passive design-certified buildings. Your new role

This role will involve overseeing a large volume of domestic building projects currently on site, ensuring that all works meet the highest standards and comply with statutory regulations. You will provide support to the in-house design team across a wide range of building, civil, architectural, and structural engineering projects, focusing on quality assurance and construction oversight.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring quality standards and health & safety compliance.
  • Ensuring adherence to Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014.
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications, writing clear reports, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborating effectively with clients, contractors, and design teams.
  • Identifying and resolving construction issues proactively.


What you'll need to succeed

  • A relevant third-level qualification in a construction-related discipline or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in building projects at senior or supervisory level.
  • Strong knowledge of domestic building construction and modern methods.
  • Proven track record in project delivery and quality control.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full driving licence and proficiency in PC skills.
