Teacher of Non‑Core Subjects (Specialist SEND Secondary Setting)

Are you a creative, adaptable teacher who thrives in a nurturing, specialist environment? We are seeking a committed practitioner to join our small, supportive secondary team working with pupils aged 11–16 who have a range of social communication needs, including Autism and ADHD. Our setting provides small class sizes, a high level of pastoral care, and a highly personalised approach to learning for an all‑male cohort.

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who can deliver a range of non‑core subjects across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, tailoring lessons to meet the needs, abilities, and interests of each learner. You will work closely with a skilled team of Teaching Assistants and will be responsible for planning meaningful, engaging lessons that allow TAs to effectively lead small‑group sessions to reinforce understanding and develop key skills.

What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants from a range of subject specialisms. You should bring:
  • A flexible, innovative approach to teaching
  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEND (particularly Autism and ADHD)
  • Strong behaviour regulation and relationship‑building skills
  • The ability to differentiate creatively for very small groups
  • Confidence in planning for TAs to deliver impactful small‑group work
  • A commitment to promoting independence, emotional wellbeing, and progress
What We Offer
  • Exceptionally small classes and a supportive staffing ratio
  • A calm, structured environment designed around pupils’ individual needs
  • Ongoing professional development in specialist SEND practice
  • A friendly, collaborative team who are passionate about making a difference
