Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Work Pattern)
Contract: Until 31 March 2026 (Initial 2‑month assignment)

Hays are working in partnership with a local council to provide additional capacity to a fast‑paced project team. As part of a large programme of work, we are seeking a Claims & Compliance Support Officer to help ease workload pressures and support the timely processing of delivery claims and documentation.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and experience supporting compliance or project‑based activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and check funding and delivery claims submitted by external delivery providers.
  • Examine delivery paperwork and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify and request clarifications, amendments, or missing details needed for output and outcome‑based claims.
  • Work methodically through detailed requirements to ensure correct processing of claims and compliance checks.
  • Support the preparation and formatting of documents for inclusion in project reports, including Excel and Word files.
  • Build effective working relationships with unfamiliar departments or organisations, promoting collaborative ways of working.
  • Provide clear feedback, guidance, and advice to delivery providers regarding their submissions.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Experience supporting project or programme delivery, particularly around claim checking or compliance activity.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to spot inconsistencies or missing information.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work through detailed paperwork methodically.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication skills with confidence providing feedback or clarification requests.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly with internal teams and external partners.
