The Permanence Team plays a crucial role in securing long-term, stable outcomes for children in care. You’ll work alongside a passionate and experienced team that values collaboration, innovation, and child-centred practice.

Your new role

As a Locum Social Worker within the Permanence Team, you will manage a caseload of children with plans for long-term fostering, adoption, or special guardianship. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking assessments and developing care plans
  • Preparing reports for court proceedings and permanency panels
  • Liaising with foster carers, adopters, and multi-agency professionals
  • Ensuring each child’s voice is heard and their needs are met throughout their journey to permanence

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in children’s lives while enjoying the flexibility of locum work.

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma)
  • Registration with Social Work England

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

What you'll get in return

  • £38 per hour
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Supportive management and regular supervision
  • The chance to work in a beautiful part of the country with a strong sense of community
  • Access to training and professional development opportunities
