Child Exploitation Worker – 6 month contract

Your new company

This is a Warwickshire Base Exploitation Service that delivers therapeutic and trauma-informed support to children, young people and families who are affected by child exploitation in Warwickshire. You will join our existing team of workers delivering direct interventions to support children and young people impacted by exploitation.

Your new role

This service is seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Exploitation Worker to join our multi-agency team working to safeguard children and young people at risk of exploitation. You will play a vital role in identifying, supporting, and protecting those affected by criminal, sexual, and other forms of exploitation. Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Work directly with children and young people at risk of exploitation, building trusting relationships to support their safety and wellbeing.
  • Carry out assessments and develop tailored intervention plans in collaboration with social workers, police, education, health, and voluntary sector partners.
  • Provide advocacy and support to help young people access services, education, and safe accommodation
  • Deliver awareness sessions to professionals, families, and communities to improve understanding of exploitation and how to respond.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to multi-agency safeguarding meetings.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience of working with vulnerable children and young people, ideally in the context of exploitation or safeguarding, and have a strong understanding of child protection legislation, trauma-informed practice, and contextual safeguarding.

What you'll get in return

You will be paid a competitive hourly rate and have a guaranteed long-term, full-time role until March 2026, with further opportunities for permanent opportunities. As a Hays contractor, you will have a dedicated consultant who will support you throughout the recruitment process as well as whilst you are at work. You will be given access to our training platform, where you can assign yourself to free online training to enhance your own skills.
