Your new role
As Chief Geotechnical Engineer, you will take on a key technical leadership position within the ground engineering team. You will lead the delivery and technical development of complex geotechnical projects across a range of sectors including major infrastructure, energy and transportation.
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing technical leadership and oversight on major geotechnical and ground engineering projects
Leading and reviewing geotechnical design including foundations, earthworks, slopes and soil–structure interaction
Acting as a senior technical authority and supporting best practice across multidisciplinary teams
Managing and mentoring a team of geotechnical engineers and engineering geologists
Supporting business development activities, bids and client engagement
Delivering high-quality technical reports, designs and project outputs
Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
You will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, developing technical capability and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.
What you'll need to succeed
A strong academic background in civil engineering, geotechnical engineering or a related discipline (MSc/PhD desirable)
Chartered Engineer status (or working towards)
Extensive experience in geotechnical analysis, design and delivery of major infrastructure projects
Proven track record of leading complex projects and multidisciplinary teams
Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, rock engineering and geotechnical modelling tools (e.g. PLAXIS, FLAC)
Experience in client-facing roles with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
A passion for technical excellence, innovation and mentoring others
