Hays are currently working closely with a world-renowned luxury estate, celebrated for its heritage, elegance, and exceptional hospitality. As they embark on ambitious development and refurbishment projects, we are seeking a visionary Chief Engineer to lead the engineering and construction operations with precision and excellence.
Your new role
- Direct and manage all construction, refurbishment, and engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimisation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ensure full compliance with building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop four engineering teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Manage budgets, resources, and vendor relationships to deliver projects on time and within scope.
- Drive innovation and sustainability initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience in a senior engineering or construction leadership role within luxury hospitality or high-end property development.
- Strong technical knowledge of building systems and construction methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple teams.
- Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- High degree of flexibility and resilience in a dynamic environment.
- Must be qualified in at least 2 trades
- Must have flexibility – able to work weekends/bank holidays with shift patterns
- Must have a UK driving licence

- £75,000- £85,000 Annually
- Permentant – 2 years FTC
