This role is ideal for experienced teachers and ECTs seeking flexible working patterns, a fresh environment, or a long‑term teaching role.

About the Role
You will join a friendly and committed school team, delivering high‑quality teaching and creating an engaging learning environment. Depending on your preference and experience, you may teach:
  • EYFS: Phonics, early number skills, purposeful play
  • KS1: Early reading, writing and maths foundation blocks
  • KS2: Broad curriculum delivery and preparing pupils for transition
Flexible working patterns available, including:
  • Full‑time

  • Job‑share
  • 3 or 4‑day teaching weeks
Schools in the Chard area are open to working around your availability to find the right fit.

What We’re Looking For
You will be:
  • A qualified teacher (ECTs welcome)
  • Confident delivering lessons independently
  • Passionate about helping children progress academically and emotionally
  • Strong at classroom management and positive behaviour support
  • Committed to inclusive teaching and working collaboratively with colleagues
Specialisms in phonics, SEND support, or core subjects are highly valued, but not essential.

  • A nurturing school culture with strong values
  • Choice of various year groups across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • CPD and mentoring opportunities
  • Long‑term or temp‑to‑perm options
  • Excellent TA support
  • Modern resources and well‑equipped classrooms
Whether you prefer early years creativity or upper‑KS structure, there is a school that will match your skills.
