Change Programme Manager for an organisation driving organisational change in Portsmouth, Hants

Our client, a long-established transport and hospitality business, is seeking the critical role of a Change Programme Manager in delivering a range of projects and programmes across the business & operations. This is an opportunity on an initial 18-month fixed-term contract with scope for extension to 24 months.

Reporting to the Chief Executive and Executive team, you will lead on critical projects and programmes across the whole organisation which are focused on modernisation and continuous improvement.
Working with an Executive team who has a clear strategy and transformation roadmap, you will lead the organisational change approach, building internal capability for change in a business that currently lacks experienced change leaders and helping deliver the transformation programmes across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and deliver change initiatives across the business.
  • Support executive members in delivering specific strategic projects focused on:
    o Revenue generation
    o Cost control
    o Operational efficiency
    o Modernisation and automation
  • Build internal change capability, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Identify change risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Track, measure, and report on change impact and adoption.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and change partner to the CEO and other senior leaders.

  • Proven experience delivering and embedding change programmes in operational businesses.
  • Strong project management and change management skills (e.g. PRINCE2, Prosci or similar).
  • Strong excel and reporting skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a down-to-earth approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cost efficiencies and operational improvements.
  • Experience reporting at Executive and Board level.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in the transport or hospitality sector or comparable operational industry.
  • Familiarity with change in unionised or highly structured operational settings.
  • Exposure to automation and digital transformation projects.
  • Experience in a private equity environment would be advantageous but not essential.
The Offer
  • 18–24 months Fixed term contract – Full Time
  • Based in Portsmouth, on-site, there is an occasional ability to work from home, but the majority of the time is on site as this is where the change happens.
