Change Manager
The Change Manager is responsible for planning and delivering business change and adoption activities within technology and transformation programmes, ensuring new services, systems and ways of working are embedded, adopted and sustained.
Operating within Computacenter’s Adoption & Change Management (ACM) framework, the Change Manager works as part of multidisciplinary delivery teams to integrate change activity into project delivery and support successful outcomes across public and private sector engagements.
This role is delivery focused and hands-on, supporting one or more projects at a time, while contributing to the growth and maturity of the ACM practice through the creation of assets, consistent ways of working and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Change Delivery & Execution:
  • Deliver end-to-end change management activities for assigned projects, aligned to the client's ACM framework, ensuring adoption is planned alongside technical delivery.
  • Produce and maintain core change artefacts including:
  • Change impact assessments
  • Stakeholder analyses and engagement plans
  • Communications plans (in collaboration with Communications Managers where applicable)
  • Training and readiness plans
  • Embed change activities into project plans, working closely with Project Managers, PMO and delivery leads to ensure realistic sequencing and a sustainable pace of change.

Stakeholder & Business Engagement:
  • Engage directly with business stakeholders, operational teams and end users to understand impacts, readiness and concerns.
  • Support sponsors and managers with practical guidance on their role in enabling adoption and managing resistance.
  • Facilitate workshops, briefings and engagement sessions to support understanding, buy in and readiness across diverse stakeholder groups, including complex public sector environments.

Adoption, Readiness & Risk Management:
  • Identify and actively manage people-related risks such as change saturation, skills gaps, resistance or operational disruption.
  • Track readiness and adoption indicators, escalating risks and recommending mitigation actions where adoption is at risk.
  • Work with Adoption Delivery Managers or training leads to ensure learning interventions are timely, role-based and aligned to change impacts.

Governance, Reporting & Assurance:
  • Provide regular, structured updates on change progress, risks and outcomes to Project Managers and senior change leads.
  • Ensure change deliverables meet quality standards and support audit, assurance and governance requirements, particularly in regulated environments.
  • Contribute to lessons learnt, benefits realisation and transition into business as usual.

Practice & Capability Contribution:
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of client internal ACM capability by:
  • Reusing and improving templates, tools and playbooks
  • Feeding back practical delivery insights to improve the framework
  • Supporting internal communities of practice or knowledge sharing sessions
  • Act as a role model for consistent, professional change delivery aligned to client standards.

Required Skills & Experience:
Essential
  • Demonstrable experience delivering business change or adoption activity within technology, digital or organisational change programmes.
  • Practical experience producing and executing change plans, impact assessments and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work confidently with operational teams, managers and delivery colleagues.
  • Understanding of how change management integrates with project and programme delivery (Agile, Waterfall or Hybrid).
  • Clear, structured communication skills – written and verbal – with the ability to translate technical change into business-relevant impacts.

Desirable
  • Experience working in regulated environments with complex stakeholder landscapes.
  • Formal training or certification in Change Management (e.g. Prosci, APMG) or Project Management.
  • Experience supporting training, communications or adoption measurement activities.
  • Exposure to large scale IT or digital transformation initiatives.

Behaviours & Ways of Working
  • Delivery focused, pragmatic and outcomes-driven.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
  • Collaborative and team oriented, able to work across disciplines.
  • Proactive in identifying risks and proposing solutions.
  • Committed to quality, consistency and continuous improvement.

Role Context & Progression
  • Reports into ACM Practice Lead.
  • Works closely with Project Managers, PMO, Adoption Delivery Managers and Communications Managers.
  • Provides a clear progression pathway into Senior Change Manager as experience, leadership and commercial capability develop.
