Category Specialist

Are you ready to shape the future of public sector procurement? We are looking for an ambitious and driven Category Specialist to join our innovative Procurement Team.

As a Category Specialist, you’ll support the Category Manager in developing strategic procurement plans and delivering high-quality services across construction and FM. You will provide expert guidance throughout the procurement lifecycle—from commissioning to contract management—ensuring compliance, value for money, and innovation.
You will take the lead on complex procurement projects, develop category strategies, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best outcomes for the councils.

We’re looking for someone who is:
  • Knowledgeable in UK Procurement Law and public sector best practices
  • Experienced in managing procurement within FM and Construction
  • Skilled in building collaborative relationships
  • Proficient in IT systems and Excel-based evaluation models
  • Either a Diploma Member of CIPS or working towards it, or has equivalent public sector procurement experience
