Following an internal promotion, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Category Manager to join the Procurement team.

Your new role

As Category Manager, you’ll report to the Procurement Lead and act as a strategic business partner across the organisation. You’ll be responsible for optimising supplier value, guiding procurement activities, and ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards. This role involves daily interaction with stakeholders at all levels—from executive leaders to junior colleagues—and managing supplier relationships throughout the contract lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert procurement advice and support across departments.
  • Lead procurement exercises that result in high-quality, cost-effective contracts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal frameworks and external regulations.
  • Promote effective contract management and supplier development.
  • Navigate a range of stakeholder interactions, from collaborative discussions to resolving contractual disputes.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential:
  • Strong understanding of Category Management and Procurement principles.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders effectively.
  • High levels of motivation, initiative, and time management.
  • Ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
Desirable:
  • Working towards MCIPS qualification with significant procurement experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and procurement software.
