Category Manager

We are delighted to be working with a leading education organisation in London to recruit a Category Manager for Professional services. You will be joining a brilliant procurement team led by a fantastic Head of Procurement.
In this role, you will lead procurement activities across corporate and professional services. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver value for money, ensure compliance with procurement regulations, and champion their social and environmental commitments.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape category strategies, lead end-to-end tendering processes, and influence supplier performance—all while supporting the organisation's mission to be a force for good.
Key responsibilities will include
  • Develop and implement category strategies and sourcing plans
  • Lead competitive tendering, supplier evaluation, and contract negotiations
  • Promote sustainable procurement
  • Deliver training and workshops to stakeholders
  • Maintain procurement trackers and dashboards to inform strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners

We’re seeking someone with:
  • Proven experience in high-value, complex procurement and category management
  • Strong knowledge of UK/EU procurement law and public sector regulations
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and negotiation skills
  • A passion for ethical sourcing, sustainability, and continuous improvement
