This is a unique opportunity to join a high-profile public sector organisation at the forefront of strategic procurement transformation. With an annual third-party spend of approximately £300 million, the organisation is implementing a new Strategic Category Management (SCM) approach to enhance commercial delivery and drive long-term value across its operations.

Your new role
As Senior Strategic Category Management Lead – Technology, you will lead the commercial strategy for the Technology category, overseeing strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract performance. You’ll manage a team of 10–15 professionals and report directly to the Head of Strategic Category Management.

Your remit will include developing category strategies aligned with organisational goals, engaging senior stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with the Procurement Act 2023 and Public Contracts Regulations 2015. This role offers the chance to influence procurement outcomes that support critical national infrastructure and innovation.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Deep expertise in technology procurement and market trends.
  • A strong track record in strategic category management within complex public sector environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of public procurement legislation.
  • Proven leadership experience managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • MCIPS qualification or equivalent experience (desirable).
  • A collaborative, inclusive approach to leadership.
