Your new role


• As the Category Lead (direct or indirect), you will take strategic ownership of key purchasing categories and develop sourcing strategies that create long‑term value across cost, quality, sustainability, and innovation.

• You’ll lead supplier negotiations, manage high‑impact contracts, and cultivate strong supplier relationships to secure continuity of supply in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Working closely with cross‑functional teams, including New Product Development and Purchasing, you’ll drive data‑led decision‑making, support demand planning, manage risk, and ensure master data accuracy.

• Support the Category Buyers on a range of sourcing activites through guidance and mentorship


What you’ll need to succeed

• 5+ years’ experience in Category Management, ideally within manufacturing or engineering. There are roles open in both direct and indirect, so please apply if you have a solid foundation in either.
• Strong expertise in procurement, sourcing, negotiations, and supplier management.
• A relevant Business or Engineering qualification, with CIPS advantageous.
• Confidence using ERP/S2P systems and core Microsoft tools.
• A commercially astute, analytical, and outcome‑focused mindset.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive positive change.
