One of my Midlands-based public sector clients is recruiting an Interim Head of Category to lead procurement across Adults & Children’s Services and Health & Social Care. This role is pivotal in supporting service delivery and transformation across critical care sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead procurement strategy and delivery across health and social care categories, ensuring compliance with PA23 and PSR.
- Provide leadership to a small team, ensuring continuity of service and adapting to organisational change.
- Engage confidently with stakeholders to build trust and deliver consistent, high-quality procurement advice.
- Ensure robust governance and planning processes are in place to support procurement activity.
- Align category strategies with Council objectives and regulatory requirements.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Strong experience in procurement within: Adults & Children’s Services and Health & Social Care
- In-depth knowledge of public sector procurement regulations, including PA23 (completion of 10-module training essential), and PSR.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage change and deliver outcomes in a complex, evolving environment.
