Category Director - Cloud & Infrastructure
Your new company
You will be joining a FTSE 250 company with operations spanning multiple continents. The organisation plays a vital role in connecting financial markets, empowering investment decisions, and driving innovation across capital markets and data analytics. With a strong focus on collaboration, integrity, and technology, it offers a dynamic, purpose-led environment where ambitious individuals thrive.
Your new role
A newly created leadership position that unifies the strategic cloud partnerships for the business—most notably with Microsoft and AWS. The role oversees strategic sourcing, vendor management, and commercial negotiations across cloud platforms, with a particular emphasis on a 10-year agreement with Microsoft and a 5-year renewal with AWS. You'll manage Statements of Work, migration strategy, pricing, and cloud consumption, working closely with Microsoft’s autonomous unit and internal teams across Compliance, Risk, and Delivery. On the AWS side, responsibilities include renewals and sourcing across key suppliers like Datadog, Snowflake, and CloudWatch, as well as SaaS and L&P-focused procurement. This role currently has one direct report (expanding to two), sits within a global team of 30, and reports into the Head of Technology Procurement.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful you will need strong commercial acumen and executive presence, comfortable navigating complex regulatory environments in financial services (FCA, PRA, DORA etc). International experience is a plus and great exposure to Cloud, Infrastructure and Software contracts will be greatly important. You will also need to have confidence and great influence, challenging providers especially when underperforming, and the ability to clearly demonstrate examples of complex deals relevant to the above criteria.
What you'll get in return
Competitive salary of up to £116,000 + a target driven bonus of up to 30%, pension and benefits, with buyable AL days on top of the designated 25. The culture is collaborative, fair, and in-office driven however, you are able to work from home 2 days per week.
