School Caretaker
Start : ASAP
Rate of pay : £12.82 - £15 per hour dependent on experience
Location : Central Bristol Schools
Contract : Various: Part-time, Full-time, Temporary, Fixed-term
I have a range of schools looking for dedicated caretakers to look after their school. Caretakers play a crucial and integral role in the school. I am looking for candidates with experience in a school setting ideally, but I would also like to hear from candidates with relevant experience with key responsibilities below.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as key holder and unlock/lock buildings to provide access as required.
- Be responsible for proper maintenance, cleaning, security and safety within the school premises and grounds.
- Undertake successfully all training required to deliver the caretakingrole.
- Adhere to allschool Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Ensure all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and is a safe working order.
- Have a full working knowledge of all cleaning equipment, materials and approved chemicals.
- Undertake and oversee all cleaning of internal and external spaces.
- Carry out all planned and ad hoc porterage.
- Act as first attendee to all helpdesk jobs and resolve or feedback requirements.
- Set-up rooms for the use of examinations / school functions etc and return to usual lay out following the function.
- Carry out all PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) tasks as required and in line with statutory compliance, including weekly fire alarm and sprinkler tests and monthly emergency light flick tests.
- Cover out of hours usage of the building as agreed with school lettings.
- Ensure access is provided for contractors and contractors are always escorted if relevant DBS clearance is not available.
- Ensure all Safeguarding Policies are always adhered to and raise any concerns in line with school policy.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Requirements
- Caretakingexperience is preferred however similar experience can be accepted.
- Sound knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations
- Qualifications
- Must undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Right to work in the UK.
