CAD Technician – Berkshire / Wiltshire / Oxfordshire
Position: CAD Technician Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Benefits
Location: Swindon (office-based with regional project exposure)

I’m currently working with a well-established regional contractor operating across Berkshire, Wiltshire, and Oxfordshire, who are looking to strengthen their technical design function with the addition of a CAD Technician based out of their Swindon office.
This business specialises in delivering technically complex, MEP-heavy projects, with a particular focus on laboratories, clean rooms, and highly controlled environments. With a strong pipeline of secured work heading into 2026 and beyond, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing and specialist team.

Sectors Include
  • Life Sciences & Laboratories – pharmaceutical, R&D, and research facilities
  • Clean Rooms & Controlled Environments – ISO-classified spaces and precision production environments
  • Healthcare & Clinical Spaces – specialist treatment and operational facilities
  • Advanced Manufacturing – high-tech and process-driven production spaces
  • Data & Technology Facilities – infrastructure-heavy and serviced environments
About the Role
This role sits within a contractor-led design and technical team, supporting the delivery of complex projects from concept through to construction.
You will be responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and supporting the coordination of building services and architectural elements across multiple projects. Given the nature of the work, there is a strong emphasis on precision, coordination, and understanding of MEP integration within complex environments.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a detail-driven, technically challenging environment, collaborating closely with design managers, engineers, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality 2D CAD drawings (and potentially 3D models where applicable)
  • Develop detailed technical drawings and layouts for construction
  • Assist in the coordination of architectural and MEP services drawings
  • Work closely with design managers, engineers, and site teams to resolve technical issues
  • Update and amend drawings in line with design changes and site requirements
  • Ensure drawings are compliant with regulations, specifications, and project standards
  • Support the wider design team in pre-construction and delivery phases
  • Maintain accuracy, version control, and documentation standards across multiple projects

What They’re Looking For
  • Proven experience as a CAD Technician within construction or the built environment
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit advantageous but not essential)
  • Experience working on technical, MEP-heavy or highly serviced projects
  • Good understanding of building regulations and construction detailing
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering and architectural drawings
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders

Salary & Benefits
  • £50,000 – £60,000 (depending on experience)
  • Car allowance / travel support
  • Annual performance-related bonus
  • Company pension scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • Ongoing professional development and clear progression opportunities
