Your new role
As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for the effective procurement of materials, components, and services to support the manufacturing and engineering functions. You’ll manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery aligned with production needs. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to strategic sourcing decisions and drive cost efficiencies across the business. You will manage supplier performance and relationships, issue and maintain purchase orders based on MRP, monitor delivery schedules and resolve supply issues. You will also support engineering and schedule changes with suppliers as well as identifying cost-saving opportunities and alternative sources.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be experienced in supply chain, ideally with more than 5 years of experience within manufacturing or engineering. You will have strong communication, negotiation and analytical skills, be proficient in MRP systems, have experience of supplier relationship management and ideally be looking to study or already be studying for CIPS.
What you'll get in return
You will be offered a salary up to £50,000 depending on experience alongside a bonus and competitive benefits package. There will be opportunities for professional development (such as studying CIPS) and career progression. The role will work on a hybrid basis of Monday to Thursday in the office with Friday working from home. The hours are 37 per week (core hours 10-3pm) with a 1pm finish on a Friday.
