Your new company

Our engineering client is going through a period of growth, and we are currently looking for a Raw Materials Buyer to join them on an exclusive basis.

Your new role

The remit of the role will be to manage the procurement of raw materials required for production, ensuring timely supply, cost efficiency, and quality compliance. The role involves maintaining supplier relationships, issuing purchase orders and supporting production schedules to meet business objectives. Forecast and manage raw material requirements to meet production schedules. Issue and manage purchase orders for raw materials & demand schedules. Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and resolve supply issues. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) processes by sourcing required materials. Ensure compliance with quality, delivery, cost, and lead-time standards. Collaborate with internal teams to align material supply with production needs.

What you'll need to succeed

Experience in procurement, buying, supply chain, or materials planning—ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Experience managing supplier relationships, including performance management and issue resolution. Demonstrable experience in purchase order management, expediting, and forecasting.
Understanding of raw materials relevant to your production environment. Understanding of contract terms, Incoterms, cost drivers, and negotiation principles.
Be a self-starter and maximise personal effectiveness by way of continuous improvement. Be an effective and confident communicator with problem solving skills.


What you'll get in return

A salary of £40,000 with 33 days annual leave. The company will pay 5.5% into your pension, and you will pay 3%. There is also on-site parking.
