Your new company
Hays is working with a global manufacturer to recruit a Buyer on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This organisation plays a key role in supporting scientific advancements across healthcare, energy, and space research.

Your new role
  • Execute daily procurement tasks and manage supplier relationships
  • Handle manual spreadsheet work and support ERP system transition
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and services for production
  • Negotiate pricing and maintain accurate cost data
  • Collaborate with internal departments and attend project meetings
  • Support stock control and participate in annual stocktake
  • What you’ll need to succeed

What you'll need to succeed
  • Recent experience in a purchasing role (within the last 3 years)
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to manage manual systems
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • GCSEs including English & Maths (or equivalent)
  • Desirable: Experience in manufacturing, working towards CIPS

What you'll get in return

  • Flexible finish times (Mon–Thurs from 4:30pm, Fri from 1pm)
