New hybrid business support officer job in Birmingham

Your new company

Birmingham City Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented administrator to support their busy housing team.

Your new role

In this role, you will be responsible for processing a high volume of hazard-related requests—currently averaging 70–80 per day. Your duties will include logging requests onto the system, booking necessary repairs, and handling a variety of communications via phone and email. You’ll also process HHSRS (Housing Health and Safety Rating System) requests, land registry queries, and fire risk assessments.

What you'll need to succeed

We’re looking for someone with strong administrative experience, ideally within social housing or a housing-related organisation. You’ll need to be organised, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Full training will be provided to help you succeed in the role.

What you'll get in return

This is a full-time position offered on a 3-month temporary basis, with the potential of an extension. The working arrangement is hybrid, with one day per week. The pay rate for this role is £14.12 premium rate per hour, which is paid on a weekly basis.
