Business Development Administrator

Your new company

We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual to join our team as a Business Development Administrator. This role is pivotal in driving new business opportunities, nurturing client relationships, and supporting the growth of our market presence. You will work independently, managing your own time and tasks, and play a key role in generating leads and converting them into successful partnerships.

Your new role

Your role will involve the following duties:
  • Customer Engagement.
  • Contact lapsed customers to gather commercial information (e.g., incumbent suppliers, pricing) and identify opportunities for quotes.
  • Market Research & Lead Generation:
  • Research new market sectors, identify potential clients, and initiate contact to understand product requirements.
  • Reporting & Analysis.
  • Provide management with insights on market trends, potential leads, and growth opportunities.
  • Lead Management.
  • Process and follow up on website-generated leads (quotes, sample requests, stock enquiries) and liaise with head office for non-UK orders.
  • Handle client sample requests and arrange dispatch via courier/postal systems.
  • Use CRM systems to record leads, schedule follow-ups, and maintain accurate communication logs.
  • Chase outstanding quotes for projects, installations, and recycling initiatives.
  • Manage incoming calls, process orders on SAGE, and advise clients on pricing, delivery, and stock availability.
  • Provide cover during staff holidays or sickness and assist with ad-hoc administrative tasks.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Self-motivated and results-driven.
  • Comfortable in a telephone-based role with a proactive approach to client engagement.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload.
