Geographic Recovery Planning

Contract Opportunity: Geographic Recovery Planning Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Business Continuity and Geographic Recovery Planning Specialist to lead a critical project focused on strengthening organisational resilience across several major operational sites. This contract position offers the opportunity to partner closely with senior stakeholders, influence group-wide standards, and shape the future of geographic recovery capability across a complex, global environment.

About the Role
The successful individual will work collaboratively with first-line stakeholders to assess, enhance and standardise geographic recovery planning for some of the largest locations. Reporting to the Group Lead for Business Continuity Management, you will act as the subject matter expert responsible for delivering all aspects of this strategic resilience initiative.
Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate existing geographic recovery plans across major sites, identifying strengths, gaps, and opportunities for best‑practice alignment.
  • Develop group-wide standards and guidelines for site, city and country‑level recovery, including expectations for the design, documentation and maintenance of recovery plans and playbooks.
  • Engage and coordinate with business and functional stakeholders throughout the definition and design phases to ensure alignment with operational needs and interdependencies.
  • Collaborate with incident and crisis management teams to ensure recovery principles are fully embedded into wider resilience frameworks, enhancing standards and templates where relevant.
  • Establish a consistent methodology for testing geographic recovery and lead the design and execution of a test for a major site.
  • Define how geographic recovery integrates with service-level requirements, regulatory obligations and external emergency frameworks to ensure clear, defensible alignment.
  • Set standards for escalation, accountability, communication and reporting to ensure all plans are scalable, effective and suitable for major or compound disruption scenarios.
Who We’re Looking For

A seasoned Business Continuity or Resilience professional with deep expertise in geographic recovery planning, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex resilience frameworks in large, multi-site organisations.
