Your new company

I am working with a major UK construction business delivering complex programmes that have a real impact on the UK’s infrastructure and wider economy. They are investing heavily in technology as a core enabler of future growth, with a clear focus on modern architecture. As part of this transformation, they are building a dedicated Business Analysis and Architecture team, to really change how the business manages its data and transform into a best-in-class department, across the construction industry.

Your new role

You will be accountable for designing and evolving assigned business capabilities, defining how they operate today, how they operate tomorrow, and how changes should be shaped to deliver the evolution. You will ensure assigned capability domains have a clear target state, a credible roadmap, and that every change initiative touching those domains is designed coherently and aligned to the intended operating model. Key parts of the role:

  • Capability Design & Target State Ownership
  • Capability Road mapping
  • Change Alignment
  • Cross-Domain Integration
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Design Facilitation
This is an important role for the company, coming at a time when they are also employing a new Head of Business Architecture, as well as other key roles throughout the team. This will be a newly formed, dedicated Business Architecture team, and you will play a key part in turning this into a best-in-class department.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience in business architecture, operating model design, strategy or enterprise transformation roles
  • Experience defining capabilities, value streams and high-level process architecture (L1–L3)
  • Experience working across process, data, technology and people to design joined-up change
  • Experience acting in a design authority or architectural review capacity
  • Experience working with senior leaders on strategic and operational decision-making
  • Business architecture and capability modelling
  • Strategic analysis and problem structuring

What you'll get in return

You’ll receive a competitive corporate benefits package including a bonus scheme, great pension scheme, life assurance and financial wellbeing tools. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a genuinely strategic capability within a well-respected organisation that is investing heavily in its technology function. You will have the backing to define the direction, the scope to implement change and the visibility to make an impact at a senior level.
