BA/PM, 9-month contract, up to £560 p/d, Belfast (hybrid 3 days in office)

A global financial institution is seeking a Lead Business Analyst / Project Manager to join its Markets Operations Transformation team based in Belfast. This senior-level contract role will support the delivery of strategic regulatory reform initiatives across multiple asset classes, including Fixed Income, Equities, and Derivatives. The organisation is undergoing a multi-year transformation to redefine its target operating model, with a focus on regulatory compliance, process re-engineering, automation, and data. This role offers the opportunity to work across regions and functions, contributing to high-impact programmes aligned with European and global regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead workstreams within large-scale regulatory programmes, ensuring delivery against milestones and governance standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Technology to define regulatory interpretations and process impacts.
  • Document detailed business and functional requirements, ensuring traceability through testing and implementation.
  • Coordinate test planning, execution, and business readiness for go-live.
  • Analyse data to assess regulatory impacts and benefits.
  • Identify and resolve issues across Markets Operations, escalating risks with mitigation strategies.
  • Communicate risks, status, and issues to senior stakeholders.

Essential Criteria
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in financial services, with at least 5 years in programme delivery or regulatory transformation.
  • Proven track record in delivering major regulatory change across European Capital Markets (e.g. CSDR, EMIR Refit, SFTR, MiFID II, Basel III).
  • Strong understanding of post-trade operations including trade capture, margining, settlement, and reporting.
  • Experience working with global Operations and Technology teams.
  • Excellent documentation, process mapping, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with market infrastructure (CCPs, CSDs, custodians) and industry bodies (ISDA, ICMA, AFME) is advantageous.
