Multiple Business Analyst opportunities at UAL

Digital & Technology at UAL is on an exciting journey, transitioning from a ‘classic’ IT approach to a user-centred product approach to technology. We are investing in our people, and the processes enabled by digital, to evolve and transform the student and staff experience at UAL.

We are recruiting two Business Analysts to work across our University & Corporate service group. Working end-to-end across the product life cycle, you’ll lead on discovery, requirements definition, process mapping, testing, and implementation. You will play a pivotal role in embedding sustainable change within the organisation whilst encouraging and promoting best practice across programmes and the wider analysis team.

The roles

People & Culture, Finance & Estates (Accommodation, Catering & Retail)
This role is in the People & Culture, Finance & Estates function, specifically looking at the Accommodation, Catering and Retail portfolio. This role is suited to a strong generalist who can work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver impactful work.

Registry & Academic Services – Strategic Timetabling Programme
This role will contribute to the implementation of a new timetabling solution. This is a strategically significant, university-wide initiative that underpins the student experience and academic delivery across UAL. You will work closely with systems teams and senior stakeholders to help shape and deliver a solution that is central to how the University operates. This role is particularly suited to a technically confident Business Analyst with strong stakeholder engagement skills. Experience in timetabling, student systems or registry services would be advantageous.

Experience
  • Experience of working within a large organisation to deliver change with experience of working across full project lifecycle, from business case creation through to transitioning into the live environment
  • Demonstrable experience of the use of core business analysis tools and techniques, including workshop facilitation, process mapping, requirements elicitation and documentation
  • Experience of successfully embedding change through testing, training and early life support of new/updated processes and information systems
  • Knowledge of delivery frameworks and methodologies such as Agile and Product
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

UAL is a world-class university shaping the creative industries worldwide, with staff having access to a range of benefits, training and personal development to recognise and reward the contributions they make, as well as to encourage excellence, creativity and diversity, including:
  • Competitive salary of £44,375 – £52,977 per annum + 6% market supplement, dependent on experience
  • 34 days annual leave plus public holidays
  • Generous, defined benefit pension scheme
  • Family-friendly policies, including 26 weeks of paid maternity or paternity leave
