Business Analyst, Belfast, 12-month contract, up to £570 p/d
I am working with a global financial organisation seeking a Senior Business Analyst within the EMIR Reporting Team to provide supervision and oversight of key controls and processes, in order to ensure a best-in-class provision of regulatory reporting on behalf of the firm and its clients.
The role will involve working in conjunction with the Reporting Team Senior Management in Belfast and London to highlight issues and raise solutions through interpretation of submitted data.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensure high‑quality EMIR regulatory reporting by monitoring submission data, analysing exceptions/rejections, and implementing controls to improve completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Verify ongoing compliance through continuous testing, issue management, and oversight of key regulatory processes within the Belfast Reporting team.
- Support control remediation and enhancements by analysing key controls, performing UAT on system changes, and contributing to regulatory remediation activities.
- Collaborate across functions — including Regulatory Operations, Technology, Change Management, QA, and Business Units — to maintain strong partnerships, manage issues effectively, and ensure consistent documentation, sign‑offs, and audit trails.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills/experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience operating as a business analyst in a banking or professional services environment
- Experience of compiling large volumes of data and analyzing results
- Experience of exception-based controls and processing
- Experience of working within a control environment
- Analytical and numerate proven ability to research and identify large and complex issues in data sets using SQL and Excel functions. Experience of working in JIRA.
- Experience of Regulatory reporting/Risk and Control (preferable)
- Understand the impact of external factors (e.g. regulatory changes) on departmental strategy
This role will be 3 days working on-site in Belfast. Only candidates with the ability to fulfil this will be considered.
