Business Analyst – Data Migration and Reporting

Your new company

A leading global financial markets organisation is undertaking a large-scale data transformation programme to modernise its reporting and analytics capabilities. As part of this initiative, they are migrating a legacy enterprise data warehouse environment to a modern cloud-based platform, helping business teams improve the way they access, analyse and utilise critical operational and risk data.

Your new role

As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in a complex data migration and transformation programme. Working closely with stakeholders across Risk, Operations, Compliance and Data functions, you will be responsible for understanding current data usage, gathering requirements, mapping business processes, and identifying opportunities to enhance reporting and data-driven decision-making.
You'll work alongside technology and delivery teams to create user stories, document requirements, and support the successful migration of data into a new cloud-based data environment. This is not simply a lift-and-shift project; the organisation is looking to improve processes and optimise how data is consumed across the business.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven Business Analysis experience delivering data migration or data transformation programmes.
  • Strong requirements gathering, process mapping and documentation skills.
  • Experience engaging with a wide range of business stakeholders and translating business needs into clear deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Recent experience working on large-scale data migration initiatives.
  • Ability to challenge existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Financial Services experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge of derivatives, swaps or cleared products would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to modern data platforms or cloud-based data environments is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a consultative and collaborative approach.
