Hays are looking for a category D bus driver to join an existing transport team in Edinburgh & Lothians.

Your new company

You will be joining an existing driver pool at a large organisation in the Edinburgh area. Due to a new run being signed off, they are looking to add a Category D bus driver for a contract starting in April 2026.

Your new role

You will be required to undertake the duties below:
  • Drive a 16-seater bus on a shuttle run to provide public transport for work, appointments, and community activities.
  • Provide physical assistance to those with mobility challenges, including operating lifts or ramps.
  • Adhere to planned routes and maintain punctuality for pickups and drop-offs
  • Drive safely and within the speed limits at all times.
  • Engage with customers/the public in a polite and courteous manner

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be a qualified category D bus driver with zero/minimal points and endorsements on your licence and ideally with experience working in a similar environment. We will need you to be at the depot for an early start each day, with plenty of on-site parking for your own transport.
There will be regular Saturday shifts on top of the Monday-Friday day shift working pattern.

What you'll get in return

You will be offered an initial 6-week contract with one of the largest employers in Edinburgh. Hays will pay you weekly PAYE with the option of accrued annual leave. You will be required to complete a PVG Scotland Check which Hays will complete on your behalf.
