Building Surveyor with a Diocese in London!

Job Title: Building Surveyor
Location: London Bridge
Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Benefits Hours: Full-time (35 hours/week, Monday–Friday)

About the Role: We are seeking a qualified Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) to join our Property Services team, supporting the effective management of a diverse property portfolio across South London and East Surrey. This includes over 400 residential properties, historic buildings, and redundant churches.
As part of a small, collaborative team, you will lead on surveying, maintenance, and refurbishment projects, ensuring high standards of presentation, compliance, and customer service. You’ll also provide expert advice on property law, planning, and construction trends, contributing to strategic improvements across the estate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct site inspections, diagnose defects, and oversee remedial work
  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and tender documents
  • Manage property projects including vacant work and cyclical maintenance
  • Advise on planning applications, building regulations, and property law
  • Support parishes with surveying advice and integrated development opportunities
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation
Requirements:
  • MRICS qualified with post-qualification experience
  • Strong knowledge of traditional and modern construction methods
  • Experience in residential, refurbishment, M&E, energy efficiency, or fire safety projects
  • Familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts
  • Excellent communication, design, and project management skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (car allowance provided)
