We are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive Fire Building Safety Manager to lead fire safety management across our building portfolio. This critical role ensures fire-related risks are identified, addressed, and communicated effectively, while maintaining rigorous compliance with legal and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Fire Risk Assessments: Conduct and regularly update thorough fire risk assessments for all buildings under management.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure full adherence to fire safety legislation and standards, including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and the Building Safety Act 2022.
- Safety Planning: Develop, implement, and test fire evacuation plans, fire safety strategies, and emergency response protocols.
- Training & Awareness: Deliver fire safety training to staff, contractors, and tenants, promoting a culture of vigilance and preparedness.
- Inspection & Testing: Oversee regular inspection, maintenance, and testing of fire safety equipment (sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers, fire doors).
- Incident Management: Lead investigations into fire-related incidents and near-misses, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with the Fire and Rescue Service, building owners, facilities teams, and tenants to coordinate safety initiatives.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate records of safety audits, risk assessments, drills, and training activities.
Qualifications
- Certification in Fire Safety Management (e.g. NEBOSH Fire Safety, CFPA-E diploma).
- Strong working knowledge of UK fire safety legislation and guidance (PAS 79, BS 9999, etc.).
- Experience conducting fire risk assessments and managing fire safety in large or complex buildings.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead safety initiatives.
- A meticulous eye for detail and risk mitigation.
- Calm and decisive under pressure.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities.
