Supply Teachers & Long‑Term Teachers – Bridgwater & Surrounding Areas

We’re excited to share a fantastic opportunity for teachers looking for flexible work now, as well as those planning ahead for upcoming long‑term roles from Easter onwards.
Schools across Bridgwater and the wider Somerset area are experiencing a significant rise in demand for both day‑to‑day supply teachers and full‑time class teachers. Hays Education is supporting a large network of primary and secondary schools seeking reliable, passionate educators to join their teams.

Your new company
You will be working with Hays Education, a leading recruitment partner for schools across Somerset. We work closely with a large number of primary, secondary, and SEN schools in the Bridgwater area, supporting them with trusted, high‑quality teaching professionals.

Through our strong school partnerships, we are expecting a significant number of long‑term and fixed‑term teaching roles from Easter, alongside a steady demand for daily and short‑term supply.

You’ll have a dedicated consultant supporting you, ensuring you are matched to roles that suit your skills, experience, and availability.

Your new role
We are currently recruiting for:
  • EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Day‑to‑day, short‑term and long‑term options
  • Opportunities to secure fixed‑term class teacher roles from Easter

  • Immediate supply available
  • Long‑term roles expected for the summer term

ECTs / NQTs
  • Perfect chance to build school experience
  • Gain exposure to different settings ahead of long‑term roles
  • Opportunities for induction‑supported placements

Long‑Term Teachers (Easter Start)
  • Class Teacher roles
  • Subject specialist roles
  • Maternity covers
  • Full‑time and part‑time options

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will need:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience teaching in UK primary or secondary schools
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A professional and adaptable approach
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

We welcome experienced teachers as well as ECTs looking to gain confidence and experience.
