About the Role

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Bridgwater. This rewarding role involves supporting a pupil with special educational needs (SEND) on a one-to-one basis, helping them access the curriculum and thrive in a nurturing learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to a pupil with SEND, adapting learning activities to meet their individual needs
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and social interactions
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reviews

What you'll need to succeed

• Previous experience working with children with SEND (particularly autism, ADHD, or speech and language needs) is highly desirable.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) is beneficial but not essential.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
