Bookkeeping Manager – Lead a Small Team in a Forward‑Thinking Firm

Your new company

You will be joining a well‑established and award‑winning professional services organisation with a strong reputation for delivering high‑quality client service. Their accountancy division is continuing to grow, offering a supportive, collaborative environment where people are encouraged to develop and progress. The firm is known for its client‑focused approach, technical excellence, and commitment to investing in its team.
Your new role

As the Bookkeeping Manager, you will lead the day‑to‑day bookkeeping function, overseeing a varied portfolio of clients and managing a small team. You will work primarily with Xero, supporting bookkeeping workflows, preparing and reviewing VAT and CIS returns, and assisting with month‑end and year‑end processes. You will ensure the delivery of accurate financial records, maintain strong client relationships, and uphold a high standard of compliance and service.

What you'll need to succeed

  • At least 2 years’ bookkeeping experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or multi‑client environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero (essential), with QuickBooks experience an advantage.
  • Proven ability to prepare VAT and CIS returns accurately and on time.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Confident communication skills and the capability to support or lead a small team.
  • AAT Level 3 or above (or equivalent experience) desirable but not essential.
  • Good Excel skills and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

What you'll get in return

  • The opportunity to join a growing, forward‑thinking accountancy division.
  • A supportive and collaborative working culture that values its people.
  • Clear prospects for career progression.
  • Exposure to a varied and interesting client base.
  • A competitive salary and benefits package.
