Your new role

As a Billing Administrator within the Finance Department, you will manage the end-to-end billing process, ensuring invoices are prepared and issued accurately and on time. You’ll liaise with fee earners and clients, maintain billing records, and support financial operations, including month-end and year-end processes. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring compliance, efficiency, and accuracy across all invoicing activities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing and processing client invoices in line with firm policies
  • Liaising with fee earners to ensure accurate recording of billable time and disbursements
  • Managing WIP reports and resolving discrepancies
  • Ensuring compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules and VAT regulations
  • Monitoring aged debt and coordinating with Credit Control
  • Producing ad-hoc financial reports and maintaining billing records
  • Responding to internal and client billing queries promptly

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in billing or finance administration, ideally within legal or professional services
  • Strong understanding of legal billing practices, VAT rules, and Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Aderant is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach
