Bid Writer – Remote with travel

Your new company

Hays are delighted to be working in partnership with a government agency who are looking to recruit a Bid Writer on an interim basis for 6 months. The agency is looking for support in the bid and tendering process for funds and money for a large-scale infrastructure project that will improve the lives of the local residents and add value to the area.

Your new role

You will be taking the lead in writing a full bid and business case. You will have previous experience following green book bid writing, crucial for public sector projects and following this structured approach to appraising and evaluating options. You will be well versed in developing a solid case covering strategic, economic, commercial, financial and management. You must be based in the UK and have right to work

What you'll need to succeed


  • You will be experienced in writing bids for large scale public projects.

  • Previously used and followed the green book methodology for projects
  • You will have project management experience and have worked with a number of stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working on construction or infrastructure projects would be an advantage.
  • Previous bid writing to DEFRA is a distinct advantage.
