Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting a Project Finance Officer for a large public sector organisation, playing a key role in driving efficiency, income optimisation and service improvement, with real influence on strategic decision making.

Your new role

• Supporting the development and delivery of efficiency, cost improvement and income maximisation initiatives
• Producing and interpreting complex financial analysis, benchmarking and value for money studies
• Providing financial input to business cases, service redesign proposals and transformation programmes
• Supporting elective care and waiting list initiatives through robust costing, modelling and monitoring
• Working collaboratively with finance and non finance stakeholders to improve financial performance
• Contributing to the development of resource utilisation strategies and financial frameworks
• Supporting audit processes and implementing agreed recommendations
• Producing high quality financial reports to support strategic and operational decision making
• Deputising for senior finance colleagues when required and representing finance at internal and external meetings

What you'll need to succeed

• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant post qualification experience
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Advanced Excel and financial systems expertise
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and provide clear financial advice
