AWS DevOps Engineer - 6 months, £500pd, inside IR35, Edinburgh

Your New Company and Role


A leading organisation is seeking a DevOps Analyst Contractor to support its expanding portfolio of services. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking company that places a strong emphasis on system availability, stability, and innovation.

As a hands-on DevOps Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in managing and optimising cloud infrastructure in AWS. You’ll work across multiple projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and efficient systems. This role offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic environment where strategic thinking and technical excellence are highly valued.



What You'll Need to Succeed


To excel in this role, you’ll bring a strong technical foundation and a collaborative, proactive mindset. Key requirements include:

  • Proven experience with AWS and cloud-native technologies

  • Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration (Kubernetes, EKS, Docker)

  • Experience with Helm Charts, Linkerd, and serverless architectures

  • Strong skills in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation)

  • CI/CD pipeline development using Azure DevOps

  • Scripting and automation with Bash, Python, Go, PowerShell

  • Monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace

  • Solid understanding of networking and security (VPC, Nginx, AWS WAF, etc.)

  • Database experience with DynamoDB, Aurora, Redshift, SQL

  • Comfortable with Linux/Unix OS administration

  • Ideally, AWS DevOps Engineer certification

  • Exposure to Ping Identity (ForgeRock) is also desirable

  • Ability to work independently and within a small, agile team

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach

  • Willingness to support and mentor team members

  • Relevant industry qualifications are a plus
