Looking For Senior AWS Backend Engineer – Fraud Detection

Your New Company
You’ll be joining a forward‑thinking organisation focused on building advanced fraud‑detection capabilities using modern cloud-native technologies. The company values innovation, secure development practices, and seamless integration across distributed systems. You’ll work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment alongside architects, developers, and data teams driving mission‑critical solutions.

Your New Role
As a key member of the engineering team, you will lead and contribute to the design and development of high‑performance, scalable services that power fraud detection systems. You’ll take ownership of technical components, work hands‑on across AWS, microservices, and real-time data streaming, and ensure robust integration with existing enterprise systems.
You’ll Be Involved In:
  • Architecting, designing, developing, and delivering PoCs related to fraud detection.
  • Leading the migration of services and data from Aerospike to cloud‑native databases.
  • Integrating Databricks-based back‑testing into the fraud detection pipeline.
  • Collaborating closely with architects and developers for seamless system integration.
  • Participating in weekly stand‑ups to showcase progress and align on deliverables.
  • Taking ownership of backlog tasks and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Strong hands-on expertise with AWS, including cloud-native databases, relational stores, and caching technologies (e.g., DynamoDB, Redis, Postgres, Aerospike).
  • Proficiency in Kafka for real-time data streaming.
  • Experience with NodeJS on AWS.
  • Working knowledge of Aerospike and its data model (preferred).
  • Solid programming experience in Java for backend development.
  • Proven experience in microservices-based distributed environments and service orchestration.
  • Strong commitment to building scalable, resilient, and high-performance systems, with clean and maintainable code.
  • Hands-on expertise in CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.).
  • Understanding of secure coding standards, data protection principles, and regulatory environments.
  • Strong knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and test automation frameworks (JUnit, Jest, PyTest, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud-native development and Agile ways of working.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently with strong ownership.
