Job Title: Audit Manager

Your new company

An established and growing accountancy and advisory firm is looking to appoint an Audit Manager to join its expanding audit team. With a strong presence across the UK and a diverse client portfolio that includes owner-managed businesses, SMEs and larger corporate entities, the firm has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality professional services and trusted business advice.

The business prides itself on fostering a collaborative and supportive culture where employees are encouraged to take ownership of their careers, develop their technical expertise and contribute to the continued success of the firm. This is an excellent opportunity to join a people-focused organisation that is committed to investing in talent and providing clear opportunities for progression.

Your new role

As Audit Manager, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring the delivery of a proactive, high-quality service while building and maintaining strong client relationships. Working closely with senior leadership, you will oversee audit engagements from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered efficiently, within agreed budgets and to the highest professional standards.

You will review the work of junior team members and provide guidance throughout the audit process, helping to maintain quality and compliance across all assignments. The role will involve identifying technical issues and working collaboratively with colleagues and clients to develop practical solutions, while ensuring deadlines and client expectations are consistently met.

In addition to managing client engagements, you will play a key role in developing and mentoring members of the audit team, providing regular feedback and supporting their professional growth. You will also contribute to wider business initiatives, support new business opportunities
where appropriate and work closely with the leadership team to drive continued success across the department.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will hold a recognised professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA or ICAS and will have gained significant audit experience within a professional practice environment.

You will have previous experience managing a portfolio of clients and be confident overseeing multiple assignments simultaneously. Strong technical audit knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to build lasting client relationships will be essential.

The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with experience coaching, mentoring and developing junior colleagues. You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills, demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and be comfortable taking ownership of both client service delivery and team development.

What you'll get in return

In return, you'll join a highly regarded firm that offers an excellent platform for long-term career development within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

Alongside a competitive salary, you'll benefit from a comprehensive package including generous annual leave, enhanced family-friendly policies, private medical cover, pension contributions, life assurance and a range of wellbeing initiatives designed to support both your personal and professional life.

The firm also embraces flexible and hybrid working, providing employees with the autonomy to balance client commitments with life outside of work. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced audit professional seeking a managerial position within a growing firm that recognises and rewards ambition, leadership and high performance.
