A rapidly growing accountancy firm is looking for an Audit Manager on a 6-month contract. The accountancy firm provides a number of accounting, audit, tax advice and advisory services to a number of clients from SMEs through to large international groups.

Your new role

As an Audit Manager, you will take ownership of a varied audit portfolio, leading engagements from planning through to completion. You will provide technical guidance, manage staff, and act as a trusted advisor to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage audit assignments, ensuring delivery on time and to a high standard
- Oversee the planning, fieldwork, and completion of audits in line with UK auditing standards
- Review audit files and financial statements for accuracy and compliance
- Manage relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as their main point of contact
- Provide coaching and support to audit seniors and juniors during engagements
- Work closely with partners to resolve complex technical or risk issues
- Draft audit reports, management letters, and key communications
- Ensure adherence to internal methodologies, ethical requirements, and regulatory standards

What you'll need to succeed

- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
- Significant experience managing audit engagements within an accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge of auditing standards and UK GAAP
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Excellent client‑facing and relationship‑management skills
- Strong leadership and team‑development abilities
